the craps i read

Everybody needs rubbish. We watch rubbish soap opera, we listen to rubbish music, we read rubbish books. Below are the rubbish I read, the things that keeps me settle down for a moment after reading heavy literary works (political, cultural, feminist, historical, you know, things like that). And some of the rubbish below are also the things that started my interest in reading books and even writing stories.

1. The Famous Five Series
at the age of 10 (or younger?) I started to read Enid Blyton's. At the age of 12, I had my first myopia glasses on. So, you may say Blyton corrupted my eyes hahaha.. At those good old days, I saved my pocket money and I bought a new Five book in the end of the month. I'm still collecting the books now though I don't have the complete series.

-Lima Sekawan, the Indo for the Famous Five-

2. Fear Street
total crap, hhahahahahahahhaahaa.... but I still like the feeling to be drag into Shadyside town and the horror in it. At the age of 11, I wrote horror short stories after reading a novel of Fear Street series. I was very productive at that time.

-Halloween Party is the first Fear Street book I read-

3. Doraemon comic books

-Doraemon and Nobita are the creators for some sub-worlds. I grow up thinking whether this world we are living is started by a lazy boy making an experiment for his summer homework-

This is the best of the best comic book ever written. I love Doraemon. I never bought any of it because I feel guilty on wasting money for such few words. But now that I make my own money, I bought every good used Doraemon comic books.

4. Miss Modern by Waki Yamato

-proper sweet manga girl eh? This scene is when she is reading a funny book, the next box of this picture is her laughing aloud crazy-

This is a funny manga crap which has unrealistic Japanese heroine in it. It's a light reading about feminism in 1920's Japan. It is very funny though. I have the first book of the series.

Some people think that Harry Potter is crap because Harry Potter is modern and popular, but I think Harry Potter story is genius. Potter books are the story of my generation. I grow up reading it, and the pages were my refuge in my high school times, when I was not as cool as the other girls who read no book.
