Why do we should analyze fiction?

Why don't we just read the story and say whether we like it or not?

I can understand people analyzing real people. I just don't understand why they analyze made up characters. What if the author only make them the way he likes them to be? What if he doesn't have any reason why the characters do this and do that?

I don't understand people analyzing fictions.

Why don't just read and let yourself being washed over with the running plot.
